My tan washed off in the shower leaving no colour?

Vegan Tan works with your own skin cells to produce pigment, the tan works differently on everyone’s skin, as skin tone and type is individual to them. There are many factors that can affect the results of your tan - washing your hair regularly, exfoliating, using moisturisers/deodorants/lotions, how you apply etc.

Do I need to wear sun protection?

Vegan Tan will not provide protection from the sun. You are able to use sun tan protection with Vegan Tan, although do not apply immediately before or after you have applied a tanning product. Ideally apply Vegan Tanning products the evening before and allow tan to develop before going out in the sun with your sun protection on as normal.

Will my tan come off when I swim?

Your tan should fade with your natural skin cell turnover. Chlorine and salt-water can speed up this process, but your tan will not simply wash off in the sea or swimming pool. The more you shower the quicker the tan is likely to fade.

Why has my tan turned Green Tan?

DHA in heat can cause the red dye to leach from the guide colour so that it looks green instead of brown. Brown is made when you combine three primary colours, yellow, blue and red. When the red drops out, you are left with a green guide colour. To prevent this happening, store your Vegan Tan in a dark, dry area which is under 30 degrees in temperature.

Can you use Vegan Tan while pregnant and breastfeeding?

Yes, Vegan Tan is safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Should I do a patch test before first application?

We highly recommend carrying out a patch test 24hrs prior to applying any tanning product for the first time. Apply a small amount of the self-tan product with a cotton bud to the inner crease of the elbow or behind the ear and leave dry for 24hrs. If any skin reactions occur such as redness, swelling, inflammation or itching, avoid using the product. If no reaction occurs, then it is fine to proceed with the full body application.

How do I know whether I am Medium, Dark or Ultra Dark?

We suggest the Medium shade if you have cool toned skin with pinky undertones which tends to burn easily in the sun. If you have a more olive or darker skin tone and tan easily, we would suggest using Dark or Ultra Dark.

How long will my tan last?

Our products have been developed to last up to 7 days on the skin, and to fade like a natural sun tan.
